The Friesen Family

Thank you Friesen Family for stopping by and spreading some Christmas Cheer! Especially little Xender, who's such a joy to photograph. Even if it was almost impossible to get him to smile but I managed to capture a few. ;)

JOY- A baby session

Baby Xender was such a joy to photograph, given he had a cold I still managed to get an amazing smile from this little guy.

What baby doesn't love playing with their toes? Xender was no exception, what a cutie!

I just love those little fingers and toes!

Getting Creative

I've been trying out my skills in Photoshop and so far I'm having such a blast being creative and exploring different photo styles. I finally feel like I'm bringing my creative vision closer to what I want to express. I Love It. . . and hope you do too! :D

Seeing the Light

Today I came across a great blog post by an amazing humanitarian photographer David deChemin. A few months back David fell 10 meters onto concrete, he`s lucky to survive this tragic fall though having multiple fractures he lost his ability to walk. Through it all David has not lost his winning spirit and optimism.

What I loved about David’s blog post was a fantastic quote he wrote while in rehab. . . [“My Goals Today…” “Same as everyday: Conquer the world.”] He also goes on to say how we tend to dream big and forget to take the daily steps to get where we want to be.

This really hit home for me, for one I realized how much I’ve gotten caught up in everyday life. Feeling as though I had far too much on my plate, though I hadn’t stopped to recognize the ways in which I`ve conquered the world. Once I started to do that I felt I had even more energy to move onto another project, my photography! With that said I’m excited to share with you my summer fun photos.

My cheeky monkey!

The catch light in this pic gives more depth to Jilly's dark brown eyes.

Daddy and Liam having fun.

Okay, I know his hats not on right but I absolutely love the colors in this shot.

MONKEY!

RAFFIE!

I love this pic of daddy and Liam, such fun! :)

My version of Rembrandt lighting using ambient light. (notice the triangle of light on Liam's left cheek)

Quinn's 1st Birthday!

It turned out to be a great day for Quinn, the sun was shinning and all his little buddies came out to celebrate his first birthday.

Yay! It's my birthday today!

Everyone was happy to see Quinn.

Liam was getting some play time on the silly snail.

Hanging out with mommy.

It was such a sunny day, thank goodness for Quinn's new sun glasses.

Mmmm, Ice cream cake!

Quinn thanks his mommy and daddy for such a perfect day! ;)

Easter Dinner, Yum!

Another fantastic family holiday. I am so thankful for the holidays, any holiday for that matter! Our family gets to be the Ginnie pig for my bothers amazing cooking. I think we would all agree that Simon's really outdone himself this time! LOVED our lamb dinner, here's a glimpse of what we had.

Cooked to perfection!

The lamb was amazing, but what you really have to try are the Brussels Sprouts. I never thought I would say this, but I think they are my new favorite vegetable.

If your interested to see more of what my bro is up to check out his site at: http://sgriffithscatering.com/menu.shtml. Who knows maybe he can help you out with your event! ;)

ROBINIKKI - Specialty Bike Shoot

I had the pleasure of photographing our friends specialty bikes last month. I learned a great deal during the shoot and may just have to save up for one myself! There were quite a few varieties, each with different highlights. Another great feature is that they are all completely customizable to your body size. Hopefully these pictures will help bring some interest to this amazing product.

The story behind the name is that the creator of these bikes has two daughters, you guessed it, named Robin and Nikki.

I used an off camera flash for these pics and really like how it created a nice sheen look to them.

One thing that remains the same are their frames, which are made of titanium.

I like the coloring of this shot, not sure what the spokes are made of but if I had to guess I'd say wood.

One thing we focused on were the welds and how smooth and clean they appear.
