And then there were four. . .

I'm not sure why but when I titled this post, I thought of the song. . There were four in the bed and the little one said, roll over, roll over,. . well no one fell out of bed but there's something so sweet about the song that touches my heart.  Maybe it connects to a childhood memory of reading fun books and singing songs with my parents while in bed. Just as these pictures so easily depict.

I've never had a photo shoot quite like this before.  My friend Laura and her little family recently expanded and she really wanted some new family photos so I was thrilled to step up for the job.  My heart will skip at any chance to photograph a baby and beautiful family, Thank you Laura. :)

I love this. . a mother, daughter bond can never be broken nor anything come between.  This photo is such a beautiful example of the gentle wrapping of a mothers love.

Sweet Avery will have to learn to share the spot light.  She's already such a little star and just loves the camera.  I think her mom might have to do with it considering she is a photographer friend. ;-) Hee Hee

A wonderfully proud father.  As if to say "YES, it's a boy!"  Note the early hockey encouragement. haha

Engage- Kristy & Peter

This couple came to me through an amazing woman in my community, Joanne, who had explained Kristy & Peter's story with such empathy that I couldn't help but be drawn in to serve them. Their scheduled photo shoot was cancelled with said photographer who I now Thank, as it freed up space in each of our lives to connect. . . and as I said I am SO Thankful for what was so perfectly lined up.

I had so much fun with this couple, we ventured down south of Strathmore to Johnston Island.  A beautiful piece of nature that is close to home and a place I now cherish.  I loved how Kristy & Peter had all these great ideas, they came with chalk and an ipad full of pics for inspiration.  I've never met anyone so prepared as these two, they are so ready to walk down the isle together! ;-)  I love their energy and creative spirits.  It was fantastic that they are so photogenic too (a plus on my side) lol. ENJOY. . .

Aidan ~ Newborn Session

Welcome Aidan!!

It was such a pleasure to meet & photograph this little guy.  I absolutely loved the super cute poses Aidan gave us.

This couples story was very touching.  I can only image the emotion behind waiting for a miracle. Aidan is such an amazing and wonderful blessing for his parents who have patiently awaited his arrival.  I wish them all the best in their journey as a family.

Spring Photo Special!!

You know spring is here when the beauty of a robins song fills the air, or when the tulips planted last year break the surface of a once cold and solid ground.

Everything is growing, shifting and ever changing in our world & in our lives. Noticing the small wonders in each moment is what I naturally do, which is why being a photographer is as important to me as it is to reveal to my clients their beauty, wonder and the magic they bring to this world.

To honor the Spring season and to bring all that is beautiful to life, I am providing a Spring Portrait Session at a discounted rate.

Mother’s Day is just around the corner, these sessions make beautiful gifts! ;)

~These specials are on until the end of April 2012.

There is limited space, please call to reserve a session today! 403-681-2205

Mexico February 2012

It was a month ago today that our Mexico trip had really begun. Oh how I miss the soothing sound of the waves crashing hard and gurgling up to the shoreline. We had the pleasure of falling asleep to the sounds of nature every night, oddly many of us thought the waves were an eerie resemblance of the wind back home in Alberta. Here's a small clip for you to enjoy. . .

As for the rest of our trip, we enjoyed days in the sun- or shaded sun but it didn't matter, the weather was better than back home. That's the point of a Mexico vacation right? Enjoy every moment we have because it will eventually come to an end. . .and so we did. James got some first time surfing in and Liam even tried out boogie boarding with the mexican children from a near by fishing village Chacala. I went on a whale watching tour that left me breathless. . .these mammals are absolutely STUNNING. At one point we were so close we were sure they were just under our boat. They are such curious creatures, just as we are about them. Just Breathless~!
The Mexican people at our hotel Mar de Jade are so loving and caring, the food was AMAZING and there was a vibrant wonderful energy about the location, it's people and everyone there. So much so, people from other hotels in the village would come by asking about the hotel because everyone leaving it "looked so vibrant" as one lady explained to me. I would HIGHLY recommend this place for anyone needing to get away and rejuvenate your mind and spirit. www.mardejade.com

Nana's Precious Gifts

NANA, when thinking of you . .

I see a smiling face full of joy & laughter

I picture cookie jars & candies, when mommy says NO ;)

I smell the sweet fresh baking prepared with love

I feel the warmth of your cuddles when cozying up at night

AND through you, my world becomes a safer place

Dee. . . this is for you. With all the LOVE you give to your grandchildren & family, I'm honored to present these precious photos. I only hope I've captured what you could have only dreamed of. *Hugs*

Koda was full of so much energy, it was fun to see what kinds of expressions I could get out of him.

Kason was more mellow, and has a gentleness about him I simply adore.

Little miss Payton was quite willing to have her photos taken but made it very clear she did not like the head band! Why is it the cutest things are the things children protest the most? ;)
